Realme has unveiled the Realme C100x in India, a budget phone built around two straightforward selling points: a large 8,000mAh battery and a rugged body. Priced at 14,499 Indian rupees, it also includes a 120Hz display and MIL-STD-810H certification.

That makes the battery the standout feature. In the sub-15,000-rupee segment, most phones still ship with 5,000mAh or 6,000mAh cells, so 8,000mAh is unusually large for the price.

The phone uses a 6.8-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 240Hz touch sampling. Peak brightness is rated at 900 nits, and the screen is protected by Panda@MN228 glass. Realme has also added Rain Touch Mode to improve responsiveness with wet or greasy fingers.

Inside, the octa-core Unisoc T7250 is paired with a fairly modest 4GB/64GB configuration. That is the clearest compromise here, especially in 2026, when some phones at similar prices already offer 128GB of storage and sometimes 6GB of RAM. Realme tries to soften that with virtual RAM expansion and a dedicated microSD slot, but eMMC 5.1 remains slower than UFS storage, which is increasingly common even in cheaper devices.

The handset runs realme UI 7.0 on top of Android 16. Realme is also highlighting AI Outdoor Mode, which adjusts brightness and volume outdoors, and AI Netpilot for stabilizing connections in weak-signal areas. Google features including Gemini and Circle to Search can be launched with a long press of the power button.

Cameras are basic: a single 50MP rear sensor and a 5MP front camera. Software features include portrait mode, night mode, panorama, Dual-view, object removal, and object cutout tools.

Battery, durability, and availability

Realme says the 8,000mAh battery supports 45W SuperVOOC fast charging and 6W wired reverse charging. The company also claims the battery will retain more than 80% of its original capacity after seven years of regular use.

The chassis is designed around that long-life pitch, with an ArmorShell structure, MIL-STD-810H certification, and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a rear Pulse Light LED for notifications and charging status.

The Realme C100x is on sale in India in a single 4GB/64GB version for 14,499 rupees. It comes in Deepblue Tides and Golden Coast, and will compete with budget models from Redmi, Poco, and Samsung Galaxy M in a market where battery life, display specs, and memory still drive buying decisions.
