What we collect

for(geeks) has no accounts and no comment forms. Reading the site requires no personal data. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) for security and capacity planning; logs are rotated and deleted within 30 days.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people read the site and which stories land — nothing more granular than that, and only after you accept the cookie banner. If you don't accept it, no analytics cookies are set. See our cookie policy for exactly what that sets and how to withdraw consent. Your color-theme preference is stored separately, in local storage, and never transmitted to us regardless of your cookie choice.

Third parties

Images may be served through a content delivery network, which sees the same technical data any web request contains. Google Analytics (if you've accepted cookies) processes data on Google's infrastructure under its own privacy terms. We do not sell reader data to anyone.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data we hold, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Given what we collect (see above), in practice this concerns server logs and, if you accepted the cookie banner, your Google Analytics data — you can withdraw that consent any time by clearing the site's cookies in your browser.
