Reto Project has released the Kodak EC35, a simple 35mm point-and-shoot camera sold under license from Kodak. It is not manufactured by Kodak itself; Reto produces both analog and digital cameras using the brand.

The EC35 fixes every shooting setting: its 25mm lens uses a 1/100-second shutter speed and f/10 aperture, with fixed focus and a built-in flash. A single AA battery powers the flash, while the camera weighs 102g.

What sets it apart from many inexpensive film compacts is its curved, sliding lens cover, a design reminiscent of the Olympus Mju. The cover protects the lens from dust and damage and also locks the shutter, preventing accidental exposures inside a bag.

Kodak EC35 colors and pricing

The camera comes in Midnight Black, Vanilla White, Butter Yellow, Lavender, Powder Blue, Blush Pink and Avocado Green.

It costs $34.99 / £35.99—about AU$50—on its own. A bundle including a 24-shot roll of Kodak Ultramax 400 costs $44.99 / £45.99, or about AU$65.
