Leica is set to release a special limited edition of its M11-P camera, the Leica M11-P Chicago Edition 17, celebrating the opening of the Leica Store Chicago and the 20th anniversary of Leica’s global retail network. This limited edition is based on the existing M11-P model, offering enthusiasts a fresh collectible amid rumors of a forthcoming Leica M12 model.

Since launching its first dedicated store in Japan, Leica has expanded its footprint to 120 locations worldwide. The Chicago Edition 17 marks a new chapter for the brand’s retail presence and design aesthetic.

The Chicago Edition is based on the silver Leica M11-P but features a darker metal finish paired with a boysenberry-colored leather trim-a deep reddish tone inspired by the brick facade of the new Chicago store.

Technically, the camera matches the standard M11-P’s specifications: it retains the classic rangefinder design without autofocus or optical image stabilization. The full-frame sensor captures images at a high 60-megapixel resolution, and the camera includes a bright optical viewfinder, staying true to Leica’s traditional photography experience.

The Leica M11-P Chicago Edition 17 will be sold exclusively at the Leica Store Chicago starting April 30. While the official price hasn’t been announced, it is expected to retail at or above the current standard M11-P’s price of around $10,400.
