Lada Azimut lighting production starts in Tolyatti
A Tolyatti plant backed by 1.9 billion rubles has started producing LED lighting for AvtoVAZ’s upcoming Lada Azimut crossover.

Production of lighting components for the upcoming Lada Azimut crossover has started in the Tolyatti special economic zone. The new facility was launched by Lighting Solutions, which invested 1.9 billion rubles in the project. For AvtoVAZ, the plant is another step toward reducing its reliance on imported components.
The line will produce the vehicle’s complete exterior lighting package:
- LED headlights
- Daytime running lights
- Rear lamps
- A rear LED light bar
- Fog lights
The most distinctive component is a single 1,400-mm-wide rear LED light bar spanning the entire rear of the vehicle. It is manufactured using an injection-molding machine with a 2,800-ton clamping force. The company says this is the first time the technology has been used for serial production of such components in Russia.

The facility is designed to produce up to 80,000 lighting sets per year, which the company says will be sufficient for the Lada Azimut. The plant plans to reach its target capacity by the end of 2026.
Although the Azimut has not yet entered the market, AvtoVAZ is already building a dedicated local supply chain around it. Lighting is a significant part of both a modern crossover’s design and its equipment cost, making the Tolyatti launch more than the production of a single component. If demand and planned output match the company’s projections, the line could meet the model’s needs with substantially less dependence on imports.
