The iQOO 15 Ultra has appeared in the EEC certification database, strengthening signs that iQOO is preparing an international launch for more than just the standard iQOO 15. The Chinese model V2546A and another device listed as I2603 have both passed certification.

EEC approval does not confirm a launch date, but releases outside China typically look more plausible after this step. The Ultra model debuted in China in February, while its prospects in other markets had remained unclear. The I2603 listing has no obvious commercial name yet, so its identity will likely emerge through further certifications and leaks.

iQOO 15 Ultra specifications

The Ultra version uses the same flagship platform as the regular iQOO 15, while adding features aimed at gaming and sustained performance:

  • 6.85-inch AMOLED LTPO display with 3168 × 1440 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor
  • Up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage
  • 7,400mAh battery, with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging
  • Active cooling with a built-in fan
  • Pressure-sensitive side triggers

The rear camera system consists of three 50-megapixel modules. The main camera uses a Sony IMX921 sensor with optical image stabilization, joined by an ultrawide camera and a periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom and optical stabilization. The front camera has a resolution of 32 megapixels.

Why the global launch matters

iQOO has previously attempted to sell performance-focused flagships outside China, but its international expansion has generally been cautious. Some models remain exclusive to China, while others reach only selected markets where Vivo and its sub-brands already have established recognition and sales channels.

The company’s pitch differs from the broader premium strategy used by Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus. Instead of emphasizing an all-purpose flagship, iQOO is combining a powerful chip, large battery, physical triggers, and active cooling—features that appeal most directly to gaming-phone buyers, but could also attract users seeking maximum battery life and speed.

The iQOO 15 Ultra launched in China at 5,699 yuan, or about $840. An international version would likely cost more after taxes and local markups, leaving the key unanswered question as which markets iQOO is willing to enter.
