xAI has made Grok 4.5 available across its main platforms: grok.com, the social network X, and mobile apps for iOS and Android. The update adds a faster reasoning mechanism and improves the model’s handling of long conversations and complex questions.
Grok 4.5 features and integrations
The release also supports integration with Microsoft Outlook and is compatible with Grok for Excel, which xAI introduced several days ago. Those connections move Grok beyond a standalone chatbot into workplace tasks involving email, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
xAI is competing with established office-focused offerings. OpenAI is promoting ChatGPT for workplace scenarios, Google is integrating Gemini into Workspace services, and Microsoft is embedding Copilot across its software suite.

Elon Musk also said that Grok 4.5 topped the Long-Horizon Terminal-Bench ranking. Long-running tasks are increasingly used to compare models for enterprise customers and developers, making the claim a notable marker for xAI.
The model’s broad availability reflects a competitive requirement that goes beyond answer quality: users must be able to access it without extra steps across the devices and services they already use. xAI’s next challenge is turning those integrations into a daily work tool rather than leaving Grok primarily associated with X.
