Fandango is dropping the “at Home” name as it folds its paid streaming service into the broader Fandango brand and expands its free, ad-supported offering. The relaunch adds more movies and TV shows, plus live Bundesliga matches from Germany’s top professional soccer league.
The company is positioning the service against free streaming rivals including Tubi, Pluto TV, and The Roku Channel. Its free catalog will be available without requiring viewers to create an account or log in, while an updated Watch Now feature will start free programming with one click.
The changes will roll out across Fandango’s website, mobile devices, and smart TVs. The company said customers can expect “improved discovery, richer title presentation and enhanced viewing experiences.”
Fandango’s free service will offer more than 3,500 hours of curated movies, franchises, and TV series from parent company Versant Media’s library. It will also carry exclusive English-language Bundesliga coverage through USA Sports' long-term media-rights agreement, which was previously held by ESPN.
“This expansion of our AVOD streaming offering — and bringing it together under the Fandango brand — is an important step in building a more connected entertainment experience for fans.”
Fandango says the combined service makes it the only entertainment brand bringing together free streaming, movie-ticket retail, and premium at-home rentals and purchases in one ecosystem.
