boAt has launched two new USB-C smartwatches in India, and the hook is refreshingly practical: both the Storm Call 4 and Ultima Vogue 2 charge through built-in USB-C, so users do not have to carry yet another proprietary dock around. That puts them in a small club in a category where charging accessories are usually an afterthought, and it should make life easier for anyone already living on the same cable for phones, tablets, laptops, and power banks.
The rest of the spec sheet is familiar territory, but that is not a bad thing. Both watches lean on Bluetooth calling, fitness tracking, and long battery life, which is basically the smartwatch starter pack in 2026.
boAt Storm Call 4 features and battery life
The Storm Call 4 is the more practical of the pair. It has a 1.96-inch HD display with brightness of up to 500 nits, a functional crown for navigation, and an IP68 rating for dust, sweat, and water resistance. boAt also packs in over 100 sports modes, Bluetooth calling, and a health suite that covers heart rate monitoring, SpO₂ tracking, sleep analysis, stress monitoring, female wellness tracking, and Emergency SOS.
Battery life is rated at up to 12 days on a single charge, which is healthy for a budget smartwatch and should be enough to make the USB-C port more than a novelty. In plain terms, this is the kind of device aimed at people who want a watch that behaves like a watch, not another item that needs babysitting every night.
- Display: 1.96-inch HD panel
- Brightness: up to 500 nits
- Battery life: up to 12 days
- Protection: IP68
Ultima Vogue 2 targets a more premium buyer
The Ultima Vogue 2 follows the same charging idea, but wraps it in a more upscale package. It uses a 1.96-inch AMOLED display that can reach up to 1,000 nits and comes with a metallic frame, giving it a more polished look than the Storm Call 4. It also gets IP68 protection, Bluetooth calling, more than 100 sports modes, and the same core health tracking features.
boAt says the watch can last up to 10 days under typical usage conditions. That is slightly behind the Storm Call 4, but the brighter AMOLED panel and more premium styling are clearly the trade-off. Competitors in this price band often split along exactly those lines: either you get the fancier display or the longer battery, rarely both.
boAt smartwatch prices and India availability
The boAt smartwatch prices are straightforward:
- Storm Call 4: Rs 1,599
- Ultima Vogue 2: Rs 2,799
Pre-bookings for the Storm Call 4 begin today, May 29, on boAt’s official website, and sales start on June 12 through the brand’s online store and leading retail platforms.
The interesting question is whether USB-C becomes a real buying factor or just a nice line in the launch pitch. If more watchmakers copy it, that could quietly make proprietary charging cradles look dated very fast.
