2ГИС has added a new way to search for hotels and apartments: by mood. In the app’s ”Пожить” section, users in million-plus cities and Sochi can now choose accommodation not just by price or location, but by the atmosphere it gives off, from a romantic getaway with a view to a quiet lakeside stay or a stylish room with a polished interior.
The 2ГИС vibe filters for hotel searches are available in the latest app versions on iOS, Android, and the web. The feature is a small but telling sign of where travel search is heading. Booking tools are increasingly trying to replace sterile filters with intent-aware recommendations, and 2ГИС is leaning on the same idea as commerce and restaurant apps: people often know the feeling they want before they know the exact place.
How 2ГИС vibe filters work
To use the feature, users enter a query such as ”отели”, then open the ”Вайб” section in the filters. There they’ll find eight moods to choose from. The service says its algorithms scan descriptions, reviews, and photos to surface places that match the selected vibe, which is a neat way to dress up fairly ordinary recommendation logic.

2ГИС AI search expands to hotels and apartments
2ГИС says the filters are the next step in its AI search efforts, and it is not starting from zero. The company says similar mood-style filters were already introduced in ”Поесть” and helped improve selection accuracy for restaurants. That tracks with a wider trend: platforms want to move from keyword matching to semantic discovery, because ”nice place” is often a more natural query than a list of amenities.
The bigger question is whether users will trust an app to infer atmosphere from photos and reviews well enough to matter. If the recommendations are good, the feature could make booking feel less like paperwork and more like choosing a setting for the weekend. If they miss the mark, it becomes another shiny filter nobody touches twice.
