Samsung unveils three foldables at Galaxy Unpacked
Samsung unveiled three foldables, two smartwatches, and new Galaxy Glasses details at its July 22, 2026 Unpacked event.

Samsung unveiled three foldable phones, two smartwatches, and more at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Spider-Man even made an appearance during the livestream.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Z Fold 8
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is Samsung’s most affordable new foldable, starting at $1,199. It retains the clamshell design, with a 4.1-inch outer display for notifications and a 6.9-inch inner display for larger tasks. Color options include pink, cream, graphite, and mint.
The phone is about 12% smaller and 8g lighter than the Z Flip 7. Samsung has kept the RAM, storage, battery capacity, and camera megapixel counts largely unchanged, but replaced the previous Exynos processor with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. All three new foldables also use Flex Titanium technology, which is designed to make their hinges more durable and less visible.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at $1,899 and comes in lavender, cream, graphite, and pistachio. Despite its name, Samsung describes it as a new device rather than a direct successor to the Z Fold 7. It occupies a middle position between the Flip 8 and the premium Fold 8 Ultra.
The Fold 8 has a 5.5-inch outer display, a 7.6-inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, and weighs 201g. Samsung calls it the “world’s lightest Fold.” Its 4,800mAh battery is rated for up to 26 hours of video playback.
The rear camera system has two lenses rather than three, omitting a telephoto camera. It combines a 50MP main camera with a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Watch 9, and Watch Ultra 2
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the premium model, starting at $2,099 in violet shadow, green shadow, cream, and graphite. Its dimensions are nearly identical to those of the Z Fold 7, while RAM and storage options remain unchanged.
The biggest hardware change is the battery, which grows from 4,400mAh to 5,000mAh. Samsung claims up to 27 hours of battery life. The camera system now includes a 50MP ultra-wide lens, alongside the existing 200MP main and 10MP telephoto cameras.
Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Watch 9, available in 40mm and 44mm sizes from $379, and the 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which starts at $699.
Health and exercise tracking dominate this year’s upgrades. On the Ultra 2, Trail Run tracks elevation and terrain impact, while Nutrition Alert offers hydration guidance alongside the existing Sweat Loss feature. An upcoming Diving app will provide detailed dive tracking.
Both watches add AI-powered health guidance, including Vitals monitoring for deviations in basic measurements, personalized insights about sleep disruptions and daily cardio load, and loud-noise alerts intended to protect hearing. The Ultra 2 reaches 5,000 nits of peak brightness and includes an 800mAh battery. Both Watch 9 models also have larger batteries than their predecessors.
Samsung Galaxy Glasses details
Samsung offered another glimpse of its upcoming Galaxy Glasses, which will be designed with brands including Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. At least four designs are planned, and the glasses will run on Android XR.
The glasses will not have displays. Instead, they will use speakers, microphones, and cameras, and connect to an Android phone or Wear OS watch so users can talk to Gemini hands-free. Samsung says battery life will be around nine hours, with the charging case providing an additional seven charges. The company did not provide further details about timing.
