Peak Design puts a finder tag in its camera bracket
Peak Design’s modular Field Bracket builds a Beacon Finder Tag into a camera mount, with Kickstarter pricing starting at $125.

For photographers who routinely misplace their gear, Peak Design’s new Field Bracket puts a finder tag directly into the camera mount. The modular system launched on Kickstarter today, with early-bird pricing starting at $150.
The Field Bracket combines an L-bracket, hand grip, and cheese plate. It is designed to let photographers and videographers switch quickly between landscape and portrait orientation on a tripod, while also providing mounting points for accessories such as a light or microphone.
Its most distinctive feature is a built-in slot for Peak’s Beacon Finder Tag. The tag supports both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub, so it can track a camera from either an iPhone or an Android phone. It uses a replaceable CR2025 battery rated for up to six months, and has IP67 water and dust resistance. The tag sits flush inside the L-bracket’s base plate.

Modular camera mounting system
The base product is the L-bracket, with optional add-ons including a hand grip, finger grip, and cheese plate. Peak Design says the bracket works with most ARCA-compatible tripods and remains compatible with the company’s Capture clip and camera straps. Dedicated strap slots are built into the bracket, so users do not need to give up their existing strap setup.
The bracket’s vertical attachment, called the Field Latch, uses Peak Design’s new tool-free locking system for quick installation and removal. The optional cheese plate mounts in the same location and extends through adjustable stops, allowing access to camera ports and cable runs.
Each Field Bracket is molded for a specific camera body, so buyers will need to select the correct model. At launch, supported cameras are mostly the newest or near-newest models in each camera line. Peak Design has published a compatibility list and a feedback page where customers can request support for other cameras.
Pricing and availability
The Field Bracket’s regular MSRP is $149.95. A bundle containing all currently available accessories costs $269.80. Kickstarter pricing lowers those figures to $125 for the bracket and $199 for the bundle, while supplies last.
