OnePlus is gearing up to launch its latest gaming smartphone, the Ace 6 Ultra, on April 28. The brand previously teased the Ace Awakening model featuring a striking 3D ”Ace” logo on the back panel.
Now, the company has unveiled another design option called Metal Storm. This version pairs a metal frame with a matte finish and a glass back panel textured to resemble silk. Achieved through nano-engraving, the surface feels smooth to the touch while reflecting light with a subtle shimmer. OnePlus also claims the coating effectively resists fingerprints.
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra is designed for long gaming sessions, featuring rounded corners that reduce hand fatigue and a metal frame engineered to isolate heat generated by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.
OnePlus also incorporated a custom core to optimize GPU performance, enabling games to run at up to 165 frames per second – matching the device’s 165Hz display refresh rate.
In addition, OnePlus will release a proprietary gaming controller that attaches to the Ace 6 Ultra. It features four physical buttons with a 1.8ms response time and includes a detachable cooling fan with a magnetic mount that can be used separately if needed.
