Samsung has begun testing One UI 9 for the Galaxy A34, with an early build for the phone’s international variant appearing on the company’s test server. The firmware was spotted by insider Tarun Vats.
The package is associated with the Galaxy A34 SM-A346E and carries the build numbers A346EXXUFGZG8 / A346EODMFGZG8 / A346EXXUFGZG8. Such builds typically indicate that development has moved beyond the most restricted internal checks, although Samsung has not announced a release schedule.

According to the report, the test package could precede a beta release and, later, a stable rollout. The expected platform is One UI 9 based on Android 17.

Early information suggests the update may include:
- A refreshed interface
- New AI-based features
- Expanded security settings
- More flexible multitasking
Samsung generally gives its foldable phones particular attention, but some system-level improvements also reach the company’s broader product range. The Galaxy A34 is one of Samsung’s most prominent mid-range models, and devices in this category often receive major updates across multiple countries.
Samsung’s broader One UI 9 rollout
Samsung has reportedly tested early One UI 9 builds on other Galaxy devices as well. That points to development of a release spanning several device families rather than a separate software branch for the Galaxy A34.
The company’s usual process starts with internal builds, followed by a beta for selected models, and then a staged rollout across regions and device tiers. Flagship Galaxy S phones and foldables typically come first, with the A series following later.
Faster updates have become a meaningful selling point in the Android market. Google is accelerating the release of new Android versions, increasing pressure on manufacturers to deliver them quickly alongside priorities such as support duration, camera performance, and battery life.
If Samsung maintains its usual pace, a public beta for the nearest eligible models could follow internal testing, with the stable release arriving later in stages. For Galaxy A34 owners, the appearance of this build is an early sign that Android 17 development is already moving toward Samsung’s mass-market phones.
