Jabra Evolve3 75 wins on ANC, but Lenovo undercuts it hard
ZDNET found Jabra’s Evolve3 75 offers stronger ANC and a more polished design, while Lenovo’s ThinkPad 8550 delivers better value at roughly half the price.

Two premium work headsets stood out in ZDNET’s testing, but they appeal to different buyers. According to reviewer Kyle Kucharski, the Jabra Evolve3 75 is the one to buy if you want the best active noise cancellation, while the Lenovo ThinkPad wireless ANC Foldable Headset 8550 Aura Edition makes a stronger case on price.
Both models support Bluetooth 5.3, include USB-A or USB-C dongle connections, offer multi-point connectivity, and are designed to work both in and out of the office. ZDNET says both also deliver strong call quality, solid music playback, and discreet styling.
The biggest practical difference is the microphone setup. The ThinkPad 8550 uses an adjustable boom mic plus 4 omnidirectional mics, giving it the close, clear vocal pickup many office users want. The boom also doubles as a simple mute control when raised. The Jabra Evolve3 75 skips the boom entirely and uses 6 microphones instead.
On comfort and noise blocking, ZDNET gives the edge to Jabra. Kucharski says the Evolve3 75 has some of the best ANC he has tested in a business headset, helped by a snug fit and what Jabra calls dynamic noise cancellation. He said it held up on the New York subway, making it more than capable in noisy offices.
The Lenovo headset has its own advantage if you already use Aura Edition devices. Through the Lenovo Accessories and Display Manager app on Windows/MacOS, it can integrate with other Lenovo hardware, including a tap to pair feature with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which ZDNET calls one of its favorite laptops of 2026. The same app also handles ANC tuning, spatial audio, and other settings. Unlike Jabra, Lenovo does not offer a mobile app.

Price is where the gap gets hard to ignore:
- ThinkPad 8550 Aura Edition: starting at $157, and on sale at the time of writing for around $150
- Jabra Evolve3 75: starting at $314, with ZDNET also referring to a $350 starting price in the comparison
Jabra justifies some of that premium with wireless charging, better long-wear comfort, easier physical controls than Lenovo’s touch panel, and enterprise features including remote management and on-device encryption.
ZDNET’s bottom line: the ThinkPad 8550 is the better value, but the Jabra Evolve3 75 is the stronger overall headset—and Kucharski says he would buy it for the ANC alone.
