Huawei is aiming to increase smartphone shipments by 20% this year, even as many rivals cut production because of severe memory supply and pricing pressures. According to supply-chain sources cited by iXBT, the Chinese tech company now plans to sell more than 60 million smartphones in 2026.
That would mark a sharp jump from an earlier expectation. Last year, supply-chain sources said Huawei planned to ship fewer than 50 million smartphones in 2025. But demand for the Mate 80 and other models has reportedly pushed the company to raise its outlook by 10 million units for 2026.
The report stands out because the broader Android market is moving in the opposite direction. Research firms also expect Huawei and Apple to be among the few brands showing growth this year, while other vendors could lose market share as component and memory-chip costs keep rising.
