GPU Solutions doubles RTX 2080 Ti memory to 22GB

GPU Solutions will upgrade GeForce RTX 2080 Ti cards to 22GB and RTX 3070 cards to 16GB, with pricing still undisclosed.

On July 31, 2026, UAE-based GPU Solutions began offering a commercial memory-upgrade service for selected Nvidia graphics cards. The company can double the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti’s video memory from 11 GB to 22 GB, turning a modification once handled mainly by individual enthusiasts into a standardized service.

How the GPU memory upgrade works

GPU Solutions fully disassembles each card and replaces its original 1 GB GDDR6 memory chips with equivalent 2 GB chips. Technicians then change the configuration of hardware resistors on the printed circuit board so the GPU can correctly detect the expanded memory capacity.

The service also includes:

  • Replacement thermal pads and thermal paste
  • A ready-made VBIOS compatible with the modified graphics card
  • Stress testing after the work is completed
  • Stability-test results provided to the customer

The company says it offers a similar upgrade for the GeForce RTX 3070, increasing its VRAM from 8 GB to 16 GB.

The additional memory is primarily useful for AI workloads, 3D graphics, video processing, professional applications, and games. The source does not provide performance figures or specific software compatibility results for either modified model.

GPU Solutions has not yet disclosed the cost of the service. Specialists cited by the source warn that continued growth in memory-chip prices could make the upgrade expensive.
