Geekbench 7 brings redesigned CPU and GPU tests
Geekbench 7 redesigns multi-core and GPU tests, adding workloads for machine learning, media processing, gaming physics, and modern image formats.

Primate Labs has launched Geekbench 7, a major update to its benchmark suite for CPU and GPU performance. The release redesigns multi-core testing to better reflect how applications perform in real-world use.
In Geekbench 7, a workload runs in multi-threaded mode only when the real application behavior it models is also multi-threaded. Primate Labs says the resulting multi-core score should provide a more relevant measure of performance during practical tasks.
The revamped GPU benchmark focuses on machine learning and content creation. Its tests include face tracking and real-time video filters, machine-learning image upscaling, and background blurring for video conferences. New image-editing and synthesis workloads cover RAW image processing, LUT-based video color grading, path tracing, and fluid simulation. Nvidia’s CUDA returns as a supported API alongside OpenCL, Vulkan, and Metal.
Geekbench 7 also uses more demanding and varied data sets. File compression and PDF Viewer tests now include greater variation, while developer and image-processing workloads use more assets and image formats. New media tests cover audio and video encoding, decoding, and processing, including Whisper speech recognition, AV1, and Opus workloads designed to mimic video conferencing, screen sharing, and content consumption.
Other additions include a Game Physics workload using the Jolt Physics engine, an expanded Photo Editor test with more real-world edits, and Photo Library support for formats such as JPEG XL and DNG.
