Coca-Cola has suspended US operations at its dairy subsidiary fairlife after discovering a ransomware-related intrusion affecting systems tied to production.
In an SEC filing, Coca-Cola said it discovered on July 16, 2026 that an unauthorized third party had accessed part of fairlife’s systems. The company did not disclose details of the ransomware attack, which remains under investigation.
Coca-Cola said it has brought in external cybersecurity experts and notified authorities. It also said product quality and safety have not been affected, while fairlife’s Canadian production remains operational.
“The full scope, nature and impacts of the incident are not yet known.”
The company has not determined whether the incident is reasonably likely to materially affect its business. According to TechCrunch, fairlife recorded $4 billion in sales in 2024. US production is expected to remain paused while the company addresses the breach, potentially reducing fairlife dairy product availability in grocery stores.
