A monitor arm remains one of the most effective home office upgrades, and PCWorld’s latest 2026 roundup puts the Ergotron LX Pro at the top of the list for single-monitor setups. The publication says most arms worth buying cost close to $200, with heavy-duty dual-display models running even higher, but argues that a good arm can last for years.
For single displays, PCWorld names these top picks:
- Best single-monitor arm: Ergotron LX Pro
- Best budget single-monitor arm: MSI MAG MT201
- Best single-monitor arm under $50: Huanuo HNSS6 Single Monitor Arm
- Best premium single-monitor arm: Herman Miller Flo
- Best heavy-duty single-monitor arm: Ergotron HX
- Best monitor arm with built-in dock: Humanscale M2.1 with M/Connect
The Ergotron LX Pro stands out for simple setup, a wide desk clamp, and solid range of motion. According to PCWorld, it supports monitors up to 34 inches and 22 pounds, offers up to 13 inches of lift, 85 degrees of tilt, and full 360-degree swivel and rotation. It also carries a 10-year warranty and an MSRP of $209.
For buyers trying to spend less, MSI’s MAG MT201 gets the budget nod. PCWorld says it is rated for screens up to 49 inches and 44 pounds, though setup is more involved and typically takes 15 to 20 minutes. Its $99.99 MSRP is often discounted to around $60 to $80, with an all-time low of $49.99.
At the low end, the Huanuo HNSS6 is PCWorld’s pick for shoppers who want the cheapest arm that still does the job. It claims support for 32-inch displays up to 20 pounds, and the site says installation is straightforward, though cable management is weak.

Premium and heavy-duty monitor arm picks
For buyers focused on design, Herman Miller’s Flo earns the premium recommendation. PCWorld highlights its smoother operation, cleaner styling, 13.3 inches of vertical adjustment, 80 degrees of tilt, and 12-year warranty. The tradeoff is price: $295.
If the goal is mounting a much larger panel, Ergotron HX is the heavy-duty choice. It is rated for displays up to 49 inches and 42 pounds, with 11.5 inches of height adjustment, 75 degrees of tilt, 180 degrees of swivel, and 360 degrees of rotation. PCWorld says buyers should expect to pay about $350.
The most specialized pick is the Humanscale M2.1 with M/Connect, which adds docking features to the monitor arm base. The M2.1 starts at $356, while the M/Connect 3 USB Data Hub sells for $253 and adds three USB-C ports and two USB-A ports. The higher-end M/Connect 3 Pro Dock costs $600 and adds extra USB-A, USB-C, Ethernet, and two DisplayPort ports.
For dual-monitor setups, PCWorld names the Ergotron LX Dual Monitor Arm as best overall, with the Workstream by Monoprice Dual Monitor Arm as its budget pick, Huanuo HNDS12 as the mid-range choice, and Clearspace Uni-2 as the premium option.
