Dimension Capital has raised an $800 million third fund, marking a sharp increase from the $500 million vehicle it announced just 18 months ago. The New York venture firm, founded in late 2022, invests at the intersection of science and compute.

Dimension was founded by Zavian Dar and Adam Goulburn, formerly partners at Lux Capital, alongside Nan Li, an Obvious Ventures alum. The partners' original thesis was that founders would increasingly build deep-tech companies spanning biotech and software. The firm says that thesis has developed faster than expected.

Its portfolio includes several companies that exemplify that crossover:

  • Chai Discovery, which is developing open-source AI foundation models for drug development. Dimension co-led the startup’s $30 million seed round in 2024. Last week, Chai announced $400 million in funding at a $3.8 billion valuation.
  • New Limit, an anti-aging startup co-founded by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong. Dimension backed the company in its Series A in January 2025; earlier this month, New Limit completed a Series C at a $3.1 billion valuation.
  • Modal Labs, an inference company, and Anthropic.

Dimension also received shares in Anthropic after the AI company acquired its portfolio company Coefficient Bio, a drug discovery platform, this spring for a reported $400 million.

The fund announcement comes as many newer venture firms continue to struggle to raise fresh capital, making Dimension’s rapid progression from its second fund to its $800 million third vehicle a notable exception.
