CXMT moves closer to LPDDR6 production
CXMT has completed internal LPDDR6 checks and is preparing pilot production, with 16 Gb chips targeting speeds up to LPDDR6-12800.

Chinese memory maker CXMT is preparing to begin producing LPDDR6 in the foreseeable future, after the chips passed internal testing during research and development, according to iXBT. The milestone does not yet represent readiness for mass production, but the company is reportedly close to the next phase: producing a small batch and testing the finished memory.
The initial chips are identified as LPDDR6-10677, with support for operating at up to LPDDR6-12800. Each chip will have a capacity of 16 Gb and use a 1295 Ball POP package.
CXMT’s progress comes as the company expands beyond its existing memory production. It recently surpassed Intel in market capitalization after going public, according to the source, and could enter the LPDDR6 market without falling far behind the global leaders.
Hynix has said it plans to begin mass production of LPDDR6 in the second half of 2026. The memory is expected to be supported by top-end mobile SoCs in the next generation, meaning the first smartphones using it could appear by the end of 2026.
CXMT has not yet announced a mass-production date. Its current status remains limited to internal R&D validation, with pilot-batch production and further testing still ahead.
