Asgard V7 SSD reaches 7,000 MB/s

Asgard’s V7 PCIe 4.0 SSD reaches 7,000 MB/s, offers up to 640 TBW, and comes in 1TB and 2TB versions in China.

Asgard has begun selling the V7, a new M.2 solid-state drive with NVMe support and a PCIe 4.0 interface. The drive is listed on China’s JD.com in 1TB and 2TB versions, priced at 999 yuan and 1,999 yuan, respectively.

The Asgard V7 delivers sequential read speeds of up to 7,000 MB/s, while its maximum read and write speed reaches 6,500 MB/s. The manufacturer rates the drive for up to 640 TBW of writes, claims 1.5 million hours of mean time between failures, and includes a five-year warranty.

For cooling, the V7 uses a copper heat-spreading plate with an area of approximately 3.8 cm², designed to help control temperatures under heavy workloads.
