Apple briefly crossed the $5 trillion market-capitalization threshold on July 28, becoming only the second company in history to reach it.

The company’s shares rose to $342.89 at the start of trading, pushing its valuation past the milestone for the first time. The move did not last: the stock later pulled back, leaving Apple valued at approximately $4.94 trillion.

Only Nvidia had previously reached the level, becoming the first company to pass $5 trillion in October 2025. Nvidia is currently valued at roughly $4.75 trillion. The gap is narrow by stock-market standards, but even a few percentage points of movement can shift the ranking by trillions of dollars.
