Amazon breaks Apple Wallet order tracking
Amazon’s generic order emails remove product details that Apple Wallet uses for its AI-powered order tracking.

Apple Wallet’s order tracking is becoming far less useful for Amazon shoppers after Amazon began removing specific product details from its order-related emails.
Apple Wallet has supported order tracking for years, but the feature had limited value because few retailers integrated with it. That changed with iOS 26, when Apple added an AI-powered system that scans an email inbox for order information and automatically adds purchases to Wallet. Retailers no longer need to directly support the feature, allowing it to work with major marketplaces such as Amazon and smaller independent vendors.
Amazon’s new email format undermines that system. Rather than naming the products in an order, some messages now describe them only by broad categories. One example cited by 9to5Mac showed an order for three packs of diapers labeled simply “3 Drugstore Items.”
Because Wallet relies on the information in Amazon’s emails, it can no longer display useful product details for those orders. Notifications may still indicate that an order exists, but they provide little context about what was purchased.

The report says there does not appear to be a way to opt out of Amazon’s generic order emails or restore the product descriptions. That makes the messages less useful on their own and removes much of the value from Wallet alerts for frequent Amazon customers.
