VK and MAX have disappeared from the Google Play catalog, according to ITzine, but versions already installed on Android devices continue to work normally and without restrictions.

An update to the report says the Odnoklassniki app has also been removed from Google Play. All three apps are still available through alternative Android stores, including RuStore. The source also says they can be downloaded from Huawei AppGallery, Samsung Galaxy Store, and Xiaomi GetApps.

Users can still install updates as usual, either by tapping the “Update” prompt when a new version is released or by re-downloading the apps from one of those marketplaces. ITzine says push notifications for messages, events, and incoming calls on Android will continue to work in both services, since that functionality does not depend on whether the apps are listed in Google Play.

The publication separately reiterates that VK and MAX remain available outside Google Play, including through Samsung Galaxy Store and Xiaomi GetApps, with updates delivered in the same way as before.

The report does not say why the apps were removed from Google Play, but for Android users the practical effect appears limited for now: downloads and updates are still available through other stores, and push alerts remain intact.
