AMD has lifted the review embargo on the new Ryzen 7 7700X3D, a gaming CPU that is effectively a slightly slower, cheaper take on the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The new chip is priced at $330.
Based on published reviews, performance lands very close to the higher-end model, which is largely what you would expect. In Full HD gaming, the 7700X3D is about 3–4% behind the 7800X3D on average, a gap small enough to ignore in many builds. In applications, the picture is similar, though the difference grows to around 6–7%.

Where the new processor stands out is efficiency. According to the source, the 7700X3D is noticeably more power-efficient and runs cooler, making it the most efficient processor among current mainstream desktop models and the strongest in performance-per-watt terms.
That could make it more appealing overall than the 7800X3D, even if the real-world difference between the two chips remains modest outside of price, power draw, and thermals.
