Redmi says its K100 Pro Max will prioritize display efficiency over another resolution increase when the series launches in China on August 11. The phone introduces a new OLED pixel architecture designed to deliver image quality close to premium 2K panels while using less power than conventional 1.5K screens.

New OLED architecture and pixel layout

The K100 Pro series will debut M11 OLED material and Redmi’s Super Pixel architecture. Xiaomi Group executive Lu Weibing said the company had spent several years improving display efficiency, focusing on the panel’s structure rather than resolution alone.

M11 OLED uses fourth-generation pTSF technology. Redmi claims it improves green-pixel efficiency by 20%, supports 90% coverage of the BT.2020 color space, and extends panel life by 5.2%.

Super Pixel uses a full RGB structure, giving each pixel its own red, green, and blue subpixels. On the 6.9-inch K100 Pro Max display, that adds up to 9.389 million subpixels—more than comparable 2K OLED panels using a diamond-pixel layout, according to Redmi.

Redmi K100 Pro Max specifications

The flagship model is also set to include a flat display with very thin bezels, 4,500 nits of peak local brightness, a 185Hz refresh rate, and an instantaneous 4,800Hz touch-sampling rate. Redmi says the combination should benefit gaming by reducing the chance of stuttering during fast-moving scenes.

Other announced specifications include:

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and an AI D2 graphics chip
  • Simultaneous frame interpolation and super-resolution in games
  • A dedicated touch-sensing chip and gaming antenna system
  • Bose audio tuning
  • 9,070mAh battery
  • 100W wired and 50W wireless charging
  • 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, and 50MP periscope telephoto camera

The company has not yet demonstrated how the new pixel architecture performs on a shipping device. Redmi is expected to show the K100 Pro Max in operation on August 11, when it will also confirm whether these specifications make it into the final Chinese-market phone.
