Lenovo has previewed the Legion C700, a portable gaming console designed for cloud gaming rather than local processing. The company says the handheld will run games from the cloud, reducing the need for a powerful processor and large amounts of memory.
Lenovo has not yet disclosed the full specification. Confirmed details include a 7.82-inch IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with Hall sensors and magnetic sensors for the controls.
As previously reported, the Legion C700 is built to work with Tencent Start, the company’s cloud-gaming service. Because cloud-based consoles do not require powerful hardware, Lenovo’s handheld could potentially cost significantly less than full-fledged gaming consoles. Lenovo has not announced pricing or a release date.
