Apple could launch a new iPad mini as soon as October, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The tablet would be the first update since the seventh-generation iPad mini arrived in 2024.
The rumored model, code-named J510, is expected to add an OLED display, a move that would improve screen quality. Bloomberg also reported that Apple is developing a new entry-level iPad, code-named J581, with a faster processor, alongside new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models, code-named J807 and J837. Those devices are expected in 2027.
Bloomberg separately suggested that new iPad Pro models could arrive next year.
Pricing may be the central question for the next iPad mini. Apple raised prices on new and refurbished devices last month: the iPad mini rose from $499 to $599, while the 11-inch iPad Pro increased by $200 to $1,199. The iPad Air now costs $749, up from $599.
The OLED-equipped mini would arrive amid shortages of RAM and memory chips, which are partially behind technology companies, including Apple, raising prices this year. An Apple representative did not respond to a request for comment.
