Google Pixel 11 may start at $899 with Pixel Glow

Google’s Pixel 11 lineup may start at $899, switch to a MediaTek modem, and add Pixel Glow notifications to its camera bar.

Google’s Pixel 11 series is reportedly set for an August debut, with a higher starting price, no 128GB configuration, and a new modem. Insiders cited by ITzine say Google will unveil the phones in New York on August 12, followed by an India presentation on August 13.

Pixel 11 prices and specifications

According to Droid Life, which cited prematurely published Amazon listings, the lineup will cost about $100 more across the range:

  • Pixel 11: from $899, with 256GB of storage; Midnight, Fuchsia, Moss, and Frost colors
  • Pixel 11 Pro: from $1,099; Dune, Light Fog, Midnight, and Pine colors
  • Pixel 11 Pro XL: from $1,299, with a 5,115mAh battery
  • Pixel 11 Pro Fold: from $1,899, with a 4,750mAh battery

Every model is expected to use Google’s Tensor G6 chip. The most significant hardware change may be the switch from Samsung’s Exynos modem to the MediaTek M90. Previous Pixel generations have frequently drawn complaints over connectivity and battery life, making the modem change particularly notable.

The standard Pixel 11 is reportedly equipped with a 4,985mAh battery. The Pro Fold’s capacity would be slightly lower than before, suggesting Google may be prioritizing efficiency over record battery sizes.

Google is also expected to retain flat displays and the horizontal camera bar. However, the infrared temperature sensor on the higher-end models may be removed and replaced by Pixel Glow: a circular light in the camera module that changes color and displays notifications when the phone is placed face down.

Pixel 11a leak

Early information has also emerged about the Pixel 11a, reportedly codenamed Formosan. Citing Mystery Leaks on Telegram, 91mobiles reports that it may feature a 6.3-inch, 120Hz display, Tensor G6, the MediaTek M90 modem, a 4,870mAh battery, and an updated front-facing camera.

The flagships are expected in August, while the Pixel 11a may arrive several months later. If the leaked prices and configurations are accurate, Google’s entry point will rise to $899, putting the new Pixel against the iPhone 17, Galaxy S26, and discounted previous-generation phones.
