Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may get Samsung’s only camera upgrade
Leaked specs suggest Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 8 keeps its cameras and battery, while the Z Fold 8 Ultra gets a 50MP ultrawide upgrade.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may bring only limited camera changes, according to leaked specifications from longtime leaker Evan Blass.
Blass published the alleged details in his Substack newsletter, along with additional images of Samsung’s unannounced devices. Official renders of the Z Flip 8, Z Fold 8 and other upcoming Samsung phones appeared online in early July, ahead of the company’s Unpacked event on July 22.

The clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 8 reportedly keeps the same resolution counts as the Flip 7:

The leak does not clarify whether Samsung has upgraded the sensors or lenses. The phone is also said to retain the 4,300mAh battery used in the Flip 7. A new rose pink colorway appears in the leaked images.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a 50MP main camera with 2x optical zoom, a 50MP ultrawide and a 10MP selfie camera. Blass also lists Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the same processor used in last year’s Fold 7, and battery life of up to 26 hours of video playback.
The leaked images show the Fold 8 in pastel purple. Its closed design looks squarer and more compact than existing vertically folding phones, suggesting a new hardware direction for Samsung rather than a direct replacement for last year’s Fold 7.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra camera and battery
The Z Fold 8 Ultra appears to be the more conventional successor to Samsung’s existing Fold line. It reportedly has a three-camera rear system consisting of:
- 200MP main camera
- 50MP ultrawide camera
- 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom
The selfie camera is said to remain 10MP. The phone reportedly includes a 5,000mAh battery rated for up to 27 hours of video playback.
Samsung is expected to provide the full, official specifications for its new mobile devices at Unpacked on July 22. Based on the leak, the Z Fold 8 Ultra may be the only new Samsung phone in 2026 to receive a significant camera upgrade.
