Caviar has put a $13,130 price tag on a Lionel Messi-themed Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, nearly a week before Samsung is expected to officially unveil the foldable at its next Galaxy Unpacked event.

The luxury-device customizer describes the phone as a tribute to the legendary footballer. Its design combines handcrafted cloisonné enamel artwork of Messi with the traditional colors of Argentina’s national team and 24-karat gold plating. The rear also features a FIFA badge referencing Argentina’s 2022 World Cup win, the country’s official crest, and the Adidas logo.

The package includes a royal-blue custom box with additional 24-karat gold plating and a custom Caviar Key. Production will be limited to 19 units.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra storage details

Samsung has not yet announced pricing for the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. If it follows the pricing of last year’s Z Fold 7, which launched at $2,000, Caviar’s edition could cost more than five times as much.

Caviar’s listing also claims the foldable will start with 256GB of storage, with 512GB and 1TB upgrade options. The use of “Ultra” appears to support rumors that Samsung will introduce two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

The Ultra shown by Caviar appears close in design to the Z Fold 7, apart from its gold and enamel treatment. The rumored base Z Fold 8, meanwhile, is expected to have a wider chassis and a more suitable aspect ratio for watching television and movies on its flexible main display.

Caviar provides few additional technical specifications, leaving Samsung’s official event to fill in the gaps. Buyers should also expect a wait: Caviar says, “production of your custom phone begins only after full payment,” and the enamel and gold-plating work is unlikely to be quick.
