DJI has launched the Lito series, a pair of entry-level drones aimed at people trying aerial photography for the first time. The DJI Lito 1 and Lito X1 are pitched as easy-to-fly models with serious camera hardware, and the lineup starts at €309.

The lineup is split into two models. Lito X1 sits at the top with a 48-megapixel 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, an f/1.7 lens, HDR support with up to 14 stops of dynamic range, and a 10-bit D-Log M profile. Lito 1 uses a smaller 1/2-inch 48-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 lens, but still promises 8K photos and 4K video. For a beginner drone, that is a fairly confident flex.

DJI is also leaning hard on automation. Both drones include ActiveTrack, QuickShots, MasterShots, Hyperlapse, and Panorama, which should help new owners get usable footage before they have learned every quirk of drone piloting. ActiveTrack can follow subjects moving at up to 12 m/s, and the X1 adds a more advanced obstacle detection system with 5-lux sensitivity plus a front-facing lidar for tougher conditions.

There is more practical polish here, too. The drones are rated for up to 36 minutes of flight time and wind resistance up to 10.7 m/s, while QuickTransfer can move files at up to 50 Mbit/s over Wi-Fi 6. The X1 also includes 42 GB of built-in storage, which means fewer excuses to miss a shot because the memory card stayed in another bag.

DJI Lito prices and bundles

  • DJI Lito 1: from €309
  • DJI Lito 1 Fly More Combo with DJI RC-N3: from €439
  • DJI Lito X1: €379
  • DJI Lito X1 Fly More Combo with DJI RC 2: from €619

That pricing puts the series squarely in the beginner-friendly bracket, but DJI is still doing what it usually does: making the cheaper model look good enough to buy, then making the better one just tempting enough to stretch for. It is a familiar play in consumer drones, where extras like lidar, onboard storage, and a better sensor tend to separate ”nice starter toy” from ”actually useful camera tool”.

The real test is whether first-time buyers care more about the X1’s smarter safety kit or the Lito 1’s lower entry price. If DJI has read the room correctly, the answer will probably be both – which is exactly how it keeps people moving up the product ladder.
