Creative XF1 brings 72W to a compact desktop speaker

Creative’s XF1 desktop speaker delivers 72W RMS from a compact two-speaker system designed to sit beside a monitor. The $179.99 speaker uses separate amplification for each woofer and tweeter in both units, giving the low and high frequencies dedicated power instead of forcing one amplifier to handle the entire range.

Creative says that design should produce cleaner playback at higher volumes, with less muddiness and distortion. The company also highlights deep bass, high-frequency detail, and support for subtle sounds such as vocal texture, game-soundtrack bass lines, and piano notes. The XF1 carries dual Hi-Res Audio certification.

Connectivity and sound control
