Mundfish has released the fourth and final expansion, ”Blood on the Crystal,” for its shooter Atomic Heart. The DLC went live today, April 16, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S, alongside a new Russian-language trailer.

”Blood on the Crystal” completes the story arc of Major P-3 from the game’s first chapter. It adds new locations, enemies, bosses, and upgraded weapons. The expansion also sets the stage for future Atomic Heart franchise entries.

New story beats and features in Blood on the Crystal DLC

The narrative plunges Major P-3 and Twin deep into Facility 3826 for a climactic battle against the sinister KHRAS organization. Players explore the enigmatic ”Wave” platform and the secretive ”Crystal” complex, revealing KHRAS’s true plans. The DLC introduces some of the deadliest bosses yet encountered in Facility 3826.

The main new enemy type is the Polymorphs-creatures born from KHRAS’s experiments capable of manipulating polymer materials and shifting through elemental forms. This forces players to continually adapt combat strategies. In addition to these foes, the DLC delivers new weapons and environments to explore.

Blood on the Crystal DLC availability on PC and consoles

”Blood on the Crystal” launched simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. In Russia, the DLC is distributed via VK Play, a local digital game platform. Owners of the Gold and Premium editions, as well as Atomic Pass holders, receive the expansion at no extra cost.

Alongside this DLC, Mundfish released the Atomic Heart Ultimate Edition, bundling the base game and all four story expansions. The physical release, including a premium SteelBook case, hit stores on March 24, 2026. Atomic Heart originally debuted in early 2023, with the studio steadily building its narrative through successive DLC releases.

Atomic Heart stands apart from mainstream Western shooters with its Soviet-era sci-fi setting and bizarre world filled with robotic horrors. The new expansion’s emphasis on shape-shifting enemies and deepening lore helps the series carve out a unique niche alongside giants like Call of Duty and Doom. The challenge now is leveraging this momentum to keep fans engaged as Mundfish plans potential sequels.
