Vivo has launched the Y600 Pro in China, and the headline Vivo Y600 Pro battery spec is hard to ignore: a 10,200 mAh battery in a phone that still measures 8.15 mm thick. That kind of battery usually comes wrapped in a brick, so Vivo is clearly leaning on second-generation semi-solid-state tech to make the numbers work. The rest of the package is less headline-friendly, but still very competent: a Dimensity 7300e chip, Android 16 with OriginOS 6, and IP68 plus IP69 protection.

The launch also shows where vivo is aiming. This is not a camera-first phone or a pure performance play; it is a stamina machine dressed up like a mainstream mid-ranger. Samsung and Apple have spent years making battery life a software-and-efficiency story, but vivo is going after it the old-fashioned way: more cells, more charging, and not much shame about it.

Vivo Y600 Pro battery and charging

The battery is the star here. Vivo says the 10,200 mAh cell is paired with 90W fast charging, which should keep downtime from becoming the penalty for all that capacity. At 221 grams, the phone is not exactly featherweight, but for a battery this large, that is almost restrained.

  • Battery: 10,200 mAh
  • Charging: 90W fast charging
  • Thickness: 8.15 mm
  • Weight: 221 grams

Display, cameras and durability

Up front, the Y600 Pro uses a 6.83-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution, or 2800 x 1260 pixels, plus a 120 Hz refresh rate. Vivo also says the panel has official eye-protection certification, which is a nice way of saying the company expects people to stare at it for a long time. The camera setup is straightforward: a 50 MP rear main sensor and a 32 MP selfie camera.

Durability is another strong suit. IP68 and IP69 ratings mean the phone is built to shrug off dust, water immersion, and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. That combination is still relatively rare in this class, and it gives the Y600 Pro a sturdier pitch than many rivals that stop at basic splash resistance.

Vivo Y600 Pro price and release date in China

The Y600 Pro is already up for pre-order in China, with sales set to begin on May 5. Vivo is offering four color options: Floating Gold, Bright Moon Black, Vast Blue, and Starry Purple. There is no word yet on other markets, which is exactly the sort of silence that makes global buyers sigh into their coffee.

  • 8GB + 128GB: 2099 yuan (~$306)
  • 8GB + 256GB: 2299 yuan (~$336)
  • 8GB + 512GB: 2599 yuan (~$379)
  • 12GB + 256GB: 2599 yuan (~$379)
  • 12GB + 512GB: 2899 yuan (~$423)

For now, the interesting question is not whether vivo can build a phone with a giant battery. It clearly can. The real test is whether this kind of ultra-high-capacity, fast-charging formula becomes a niche Chinese flex or a template other brands start copying once buyers decide that all-day battery life is no longer enough.
