Google sets Pixel 11 launch for August 12

Google has scheduled its next Made by Google event for August 12, 2026, bringing the Pixel 11 launch slightly earlier than last year’s Pixel 10 announcement on August 20, 2025. The event will begin at 6 p.m. Eastern time in New York, marking the company’s second consecutive presentation in the city.

The date is the only detail Google has officially confirmed. The company has not announced the lineup, specifications, or prices. If it follows last year’s pattern, the event should introduce the standard Pixel 11 alongside Pro models, with sales beginning one to two weeks later.

An earlier August launch would put Google’s phones on sale before Apple’s new iPhone generation gains momentum, while Samsung’s summer flagships are already available. It also gives Google several additional days during the period when US carriers typically offer aggressive trade-in deals and contract discounts.

Pixel 11 storage and hardware leaks

According to leaks, the family will again include four models: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The most prominent rumor concerns storage. Google is reportedly preparing to remove the 128GB option from the standard model and make 256GB the entry point.

Another reported design feature is Pixel Glow, a camera-module element that could illuminate to indicate Gemini activity and notifications. If accurate, it would be Pixel’s most visible exterior change in several generations.

The standard Pixel 11 is also rumored to receive a new 50-megapixel main sensor, reportedly identified internally by the codename chemosh. Connectivity and charging upgrades are expected to be modest: leaks cite Wi‑Fi 6E instead of Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, along with 45W wired charging for Pro models—faster than the previous generation.

Possible color names include Midnight Haze, Light Sterling, Fuchsia, and Moss for the base model, and Light Fog, Midnight Haze, and Dune for Pro versions.
