Ugreen has launched a tiny 45W Nexode charger in China, and the pitch is straightforward: modern fast charging in a body so small you may lose it before you lose the cable. It supports PD 3.2 with AVS, costs 99 yuan normally, and is being sold at an introductory 79 yuan, which works out to about $11.

The Ugreen Nexode 45W charger is aimed at everything from phones to lighter laptops, which is where 45W chargers have quietly become the default sweet spot. That segment is crowded, but Ugreen is leaning on size, efficiency, and broad protocol support rather than flashy gimmicks.

45W output with PD 3.2, PPS, QC 3.0, and SCP

The charger has a single USB-C port and can deliver up to 45W. Beyond the headline spec, it supports PD 3.2 with AVS, PPS, QC 3.0, and SCP, so it should play nicely with a wide range of recent gadgets. That breadth matters because the charger market is increasingly about compatibility, not just peak wattage.

Ugreen says the adapter automatically adjusts power based on the connected device to keep charging stable and safe. In practice, that is the sort of line every accessory brand uses, but it still separates a proper travel charger from the cheap bricks that overpromise and underdeliver.

GaN 7 and a 49.5 g body

Under the hood is seventh-generation GaN technology, which Ugreen says improves energy efficiency and reduces heat versus traditional designs. The company claims efficiency reaches 93%, and the chassis is impressively small for the power on tap.

  • Power output: up to 45W
  • Ports: 1 x USB-C
  • Protocols: PD 3.2, AVS, PPS, QC 3.0, SCP
  • Weight: 49.5 g
  • Dimensions: 30.7 x 30.7 x 36.1 mm
  • Plug: foldable

That size puts it squarely in the travel-friendly category, where Anker, Baseus, and other accessory makers have been pushing GaN chargers ever smaller. The difference here is the price: an $11 launch tag is aggressive enough to tempt buyers who mostly care about ”good enough” charging without a bulky wall wart.

Who the Ugreen Nexode 45W charger is for

The Nexode 45W makes the most sense for people who charge a phone, tablet and compact laptop from the same brick, or who want a tiny backup adapter for travel. The built-in protections against overheating, overload and voltage spikes are standard fare, but at this price and size they help make the package feel complete rather than compromised.

The obvious question is whether Ugreen keeps this price only for China or uses it as a launchpad for wider sales. If it does leave the home market, expect plenty of attention from rivals that have spent years trying to make small chargers feel expensive enough to justify the premium.
