OneDrive drops older Windows 10 support in August 2026

Microsoft will stop supporting OneDrive on Windows 10 22H1 starting August 15, 2026, according to PCWorld, citing Neowin. For users still on that version, the change means Microsoft will no longer guarantee that OneDrive remains compatible or fully functional after that date.

The app may continue syncing files for some users, but Microsoft says systems on Windows 10 22H1 will no longer get new features, security updates, or bug fixes. If problems appear after the cutoff, they are unlikely to be fixed.

Anyone who wants to keep using OneDrive on Windows 10 will need to move to Windows 10 22H2 before the deadline. PCs on 22H2 will continue to support OneDrive and receive updates until October 10, 2028.

That leaves older Windows 10 installations in a more exposed position: even if syncing still works for a while, losing patches and fixes could create security risks over time. The immediate path forward is straightforward—upgrade from 22H1 to 22H2 before August 15, 2026.
