Netflix says generative AI workflows have already been used in roughly 300 titles in 2026, with the heaviest use in post-production, according to the company’s second-quarter shareholder letter.

Netflix said three projects — Glory from India, Brasil 70: A Saga do Tri from Brazil and The American Experiment from the US — used generative AI to create “highly complex sequences.” The company’s latest filing suggests the technology is now spreading well beyond isolated experiments.

The streamer has been open about its interest in AI for some time. Engadget notes that Netflix had already used generative AI in at least one original show by last July, and the company has since expanded those efforts through acquisitions and new specialized studios.

In its earnings letter, Netflix said:

“We are increasingly leveraging these tools to deliver higher quality output more quickly and at a lower cost than traditional methods.”

That language makes clear where Netflix sees the appeal: speed, lower costs and broader production use. But the company’s growing reliance on these tools is also likely to keep scrutiny on how much of the creative process stays in human hands as AI use expands across film and TV production.
