Midjourney acquires astrology app Co-Star
Midjourney has acquired astrology app Co-Star, bringing its 4.3 million monthly users and two dozen employees into the AI lab.

Midjourney has acquired Co-Star, the social astrology app, according to Bloomberg. The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal.
Co-Star reportedly has about 4.3 million monthly active users. Its core feature helps people calculate their astrological birth charts and share them with friends. The app also produces horoscopes, compatibility assessments, and other guidance using a combination of AI-generated output and human writing based on users' astrological data.
The acquisition adds an unexpected consumer product to Midjourney’s expanding ambitions. The company is best known for its LLM-powered image and video generators, which users primarily access through a Discord server. Midjourney still has no standalone app, but it is also working to build a medical arm and a spa business.
Co-Star’s team of two dozen employees has joined Midjourney as part of the acquisition. Their experience building a consumer-facing app could help Midjourney develop a standalone product of its own, though the company has not announced such a plan.
