Teams mobile users face Calendar cutoff in October
Microsoft Teams users on iOS and Android must update by early October or lose access to Calendar. Desktop and browser apps are unaffected.

Microsoft Teams users on iOS and Android have until the beginning of October to update the app or lose access to its built-in Calendar feature.
Microsoft disclosed the change in a support note, reported by TechRadar. The restriction affects only mobile users who remain on an outdated version. The browser and desktop versions of Teams will continue working normally, and the change does not remove Calendar access from those platforms.
“This change helps maintain a reliable calendar experience on iOS and Android devices and ensures compatibility with ongoing Teams service updates.”
Microsoft did not explain why Calendar access will be disabled instead of simply limiting other parts of the app. TechRadar speculated that the change may be connected to the upcoming end-of-life for Microsoft’s Exchange Web Services system. Updating Teams should allow the mobile app to remain compatible with the service updates and preserve Calendar functionality.
The company did not specify an exact October deadline beyond saying users must update by the beginning of the month. For anyone who relies on Teams to track meeting times, failing to update could mean losing access to a central scheduling tool while other Teams clients remain unaffected.
