Lenovo has officially rolled out its latest convertible laptop, the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 11 Aura Edition, now available in North America. Unveiled alongside the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7, T14s Gen 7, and T16 Gen 5 models, this new device improves on its predecessor with notable hardware upgrades.

The Aura Edition packs a 58Wh battery, faster LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, and a tactile touchpad. Buyers can pick between two webcams: a 5MP or a higher-end 10MP camera. Both support infrared for Windows Hello facial recognition, with the 10MP option adding a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor for advanced depth sensing.

Starting at $2,528 USD ($3,639 CAD), the base model comes equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 335 vPro processor, 32GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. The display is a 14-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, 60Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits brightness.

Power users can opt for configurations featuring Intel Core Ultra 7 processors: the 355, 365 vPro, or 366H vPro variants. Display options also scale up to a 2.8K (2880×1800) OLED panel with variable refresh rates ranging from 30 to 120Hz, maintaining a peak brightness of 500 nits.

RAM ranges from 16GB in the entry-level models to 64GB in the top-tier Core Ultra 7 builds, catering to a wide range of professional workloads.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Aura Edition competes directly with premium business convertibles like the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 and HP Elite Dragonfly, offering a solid balance of performance, portability, and security features. Its focus on high-refresh OLED options and ToF-enhanced facial recognition puts it a step ahead in display and biometric technology.

As Intel’s new Ultra processors continue to roll out, expect Lenovo and other PC makers to lean more into these chips to boost multi-threaded performance and AI capabilities. The Aura Edition’s blend of powerful hardware and flexible design makes it a strong contender for professionals needing a convertible that doesn’t compromise on speed or security.
