Honor appears to be chasing two things at once: absurd battery life and charging speeds that keep the whole idea from becoming a brick. According to insider Digital Chat Station, the company is testing a new smartphone with a battery of around 10,000 mAh, split into a two-cell design, and it is expected to support at least 100 W fast charging.
If that holds up, it would put Honor in a small club of brands trying to make giant batteries feel normal instead of niche. The trick is obvious: big capacity solves endurance, but fast charging solves the daily annoyance that usually comes with it. That combination is exactly what makes these leak-driven battery wars worth watching.
Honor’s growing battery play
This would not be Honor’s first move in the oversized-battery game. The company has already released phones with 10,000 mAh batteries, including the Honor Win, Honor Win RT, and Honor Power 2, and earlier reporting also pointed to an Honor X80 with a battery of roughly the same size. In other words, this is less a wild experiment than a pattern.
That matters because smartphone makers are increasingly treating battery size as a visible differentiator again, especially in markets where marathon endurance sells better than thinness. Honor is clearly betting that a bigger number on the spec sheet can still move buyers, provided the charging side doesn’t feel painfully slow.
What the leak says about the charging setup
The reported use of 100 W charging is the interesting part. Pairing that speed with a huge battery suggests Honor wants the phone to behave like a normal daily device rather than a patience test.

An 11,000 mAh model is also in the pipeline
There is one more wrinkle: the same insider previously said Honor is preparing a smartphone with an 11,000 mAh battery. If both reports are accurate, Honor may be building a broader battery-first lineup rather than a single one-off monster.
That would make sense. Once one brand proves that oversized batteries can be packaged without turning the phone into a joke, competitors tend to follow, usually with a glossy slide deck and a lot of hand-waving. The real question is whether Honor can make these phones feel premium enough to escape the ”big battery, big compromise” stereotype.
