IO Interactive officially unveiled Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered during their latest showcase, revealing a rebuilt collection of the first three games in the stealth franchise. Developed by Saber Interactive, the remaster is set to launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in 2027.

The anthology includes Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts – all refreshed with modernized graphics while preserving the core gameplay that made the series iconic.

Players will be able to toggle between the updated visuals and the original art style, a feature aimed at purists who want to compare the classic experience against the remaster. The collection also introduces a new photo mode and other contemporary enhancements expected from modern re-releases.

Saber Interactive, known for revamping beloved series, previously handled remasters for Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain, and Halo, as well as porting The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to Nintendo Switch. Their track record suggests they understand how to update classics with respect.

While the announcement trailer doesn’t show gameplay, released screenshots reveal clear visual upgrades. Many flat 2D environmental assets have been replaced with fully realized 3D models, enhancing immersion without altering the original level design.

The developers emphasize that the remastered trilogy will let fans revisit Agent 47’s origins without sacrificing the original mechanics, atmosphere, or player freedom. Multiple pathways, creative contract executions, and a wide arsenal of tools remain intact – core pillars that made the classic Hitman games cult favorites.

Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, positioning it as a major retro revival for stealth game enthusiasts well before the next mainline series entry.

As the remaster progresses to release, a key question will be how well the updated visuals and modern features mesh with the original level design and AI behaviors. Fans will be watching closely to see if this collection strikes the right balance between nostalgia and contemporary polish following recent Hitman entries.
