Bigme has unveiled the Hibreak Dual 2, a compact smartphone that refuses to choose between a conventional screen and an E Ink panel. The pitch is simple: put a 5-inch LCD on one side and a 6.13-inch color E Ink display on the other, then let Android 16 and stylus support do the rest. It is a neat answer to a problem most phone makers ignore – how to make a device that can be both familiar and easier on the eyes.
The company is clearly trying to move beyond the gimmick stage. On the first Hibreak Dual, the secondary LCD was tiny; here, the two panels are close enough in size that the hardware feels more deliberate than decorative. That puts Bigme in the same broad conversation as other dual-screen and E Ink experiments, except this one is aimed less at laptops and foldables and more at a pocketable daily driver with a paper-like sidekick.
Hibreak Dual 2 display layout and hardware
Bigme says the Hibreak Dual 2 uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, but it has not shared the full spec sheet yet. That leaves the headline features doing most of the work: a 6.13-inch color E Ink display, an LCD screen of about 5 inches, Android 16, and stylus support.

Bigme Hibreak Dual 2 price and launch plans
Price and launch timing are still under wraps. Bigme plans to fund the project through Kickstarter first, then push the phone toward Amazon and other retail channels if it gets that far. Crowdfunding is a familiar route for niche hardware, and it usually means one thing for buyers: enthusiasm arrives before certainty.
The real test is whether Bigme can turn a clever dual-screen idea into something people will actually carry every day. If it does, the Hibreak Dual 2 could appeal to readers, note-takers, and anyone who wants an eye-strain-friendly second screen without lugging around a mini-tablet. If not, it becomes another interesting prototype with good intentions and a very long shopping cart.
