Android 17 will be the Galaxy S23's final major update
Samsung confirms Android 17 and One UI 9.0 will be the Galaxy S23 lineup’s final major update; Android 18 is excluded.

Samsung has confirmed that Android 17, delivered with One UI 9.0, will be the final major Android update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Galaxy S23 FE. The phones will not receive Android 18.
The Galaxy S23 lineup launched in 2023 with Android 13 and One UI 5.1. Samsung originally promised four major operating-system upgrades, and Android 17 will complete that commitment. Owners have already received the first three updates; the phones currently run One UI 8.5, based on Android 16 QPR2.
This matches the update path previously reported for the S23 family, including the Galaxy S23's June security update, though the source does not specify how long security patches will continue after Android 17. The confirmed cutoff therefore applies to major Android versions, not necessarily all future security maintenance.
