Ai+ has launched two new budget-minded 5G phones, the Nova 2 Neo 5G and Nova 2 Pro 5G, and the bigger model is clearly doing the heavy lifting. The Nova 2 Pro 5G pairs a 6.9-inch Full HD+ display with a 144 Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip, and a rear design that leans heavily into the current iPhone-inspired aesthetic. That is a lot of visual swagger for a phone built around an entry-level charging setup and a 6000 mAh battery.
The smaller Nova 2 Neo 5G takes a more conventional route, with a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD panel at 120 Hz and a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. Ai+ is pitching both devices on practicality rather than raw ambition: expandable storage up to 2 TB, IP65 protection, Android 16 with NxtQuantum OS, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. In a market where cheap phones often save money by trimming the features people actually notice, that is not the worst bundle.
Nova 2 Pro 5G specs
The Nova 2 Pro 5G is the more attention-grabbing of the pair, mainly because of its display and styling. Ai+ says it offers up to 8 GB of RAM, an 8 MP ultrawide camera, a 13 MP front camera, stereo speakers, and customizable rear LED lighting. The battery is the same 6000 mAh unit found in the cheaper model, but charging is limited to 18 W, which is decent for longevity and less impressive if you are in a hurry.
- 6.9-inch Full HD+ display
- 144 Hz refresh rate
- MediaTek Dimensity 7100
- Up to 8 GB RAM
- 6000 mAh battery
- 18 W charging
Nova 2 Neo 5G specs
The Nova 2 Neo 5G is the plainer sibling, but it keeps the essentials intact. It uses a 6.74-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, plus a Sony IMX582 48 MP main camera, an 8 MP selfie camera, up to 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of flash storage. Like the Pro, it carries a 6000 mAh battery with 18 W charging.
What stands out is not one killer spec but the combination. IP65 protection, side fingerprint authentication, big batteries, and expandable storage up to 2 TB are the sort of details that tend to matter more over six months than launch-day marketing does. That is probably the smartest part of the package.
Android 16 and availability questions
Both phones ship with Android 16 and NxtQuantum OS, which gives Ai+ a modern software base out of the box. The obvious question now is whether the company can price them aggressively enough to stand out against the usual crowd of budget 5G phones from brands that have already made long battery life and high refresh-rate screens table stakes. If it can, the Nova 2 series has a shot; if not, the spec sheet may look better than the shelf appeal.
