Samsung has taken the Galaxy A27 5G global, slotting it into the crowded mid-range 5G segment with a familiar pitch: a bigger AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, a 50MP main camera with OIS, and an unusually long software promise for a phone at this price. At $349.99 or €349, the Samsung Galaxy A27 5G is aimed at buyers who want a safer long-term pick rather than the cheapest box on the shelf.

The bigger story here is software support. Samsung says the phone will get up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, plus up to six years of security updates from the initial global launch date. That puts the Galaxy A27 5G ahead of a lot of mid-range rivals that still treat update support like a generous afterthought.

Samsung Galaxy A27 5G specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G uses a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1080 x 2340 resolution, and a peak brightness of 1400 nits. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, which should help it survive the usual pocket-and-pavement tango.

  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 on a 4nm process
  • CPU: four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz
  • GPU: Adreno 710
  • Memory and storage: up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, microSD expansion up to 2TB

It ships with Android 16 and Samsung One UI 8.5, plus Samsung Knox and Knox Vault for hardware-backed protection. That is a more serious security stack than many mid-range phones get, and it helps Samsung keep the A-series from feeling like a stripped-down afterthought.

Camera and battery setup

On the back, Samsung has fitted a triple-camera array: a 50MP main camera with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The front camera is 12MP with an f/2.2 aperture, which should cover the usual selfie and video-call duty without pretending to be a flagship portrait monster.

The battery is a 5000mAh unit with 25W fast charging. Samsung also adds stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP64 dust and water resistance, hybrid dual SIM support, 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. The phone measures 162.4 x 78.2 x 7.8mm and weighs 200 grams.

Price, colors, and rollout date

The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G will come in Black, Blue, Light Green, and Light Pink. Samsung says it will begin rolling out in select markets on July 3, which gives it a neat head start in the summer mid-range shuffle.

At $349.99 or €349, Samsung is leaning on the same formula that has kept its A-series competitive against Motorola, Xiaomi, and OnePlus rivals: decent hardware, strong branding, and updates that last longer than a lot of users keep their phones. The real test is whether buyers value longevity enough to overlook the fact that plenty of Android phones now offer similarly ambitious specs on paper.
